Boosting our son’s confidence in just 6 months
We’ve been part of the Legacy Martial Arts family for about six months now. Ever since our son has joined Legacy Martial Arts, his confidence has swelled to unexpected bounds in such a short time. This was the best decision that we’ve could’ve made in such an uncertain time.
Legacy Martial Arts has been a blessing. It has provided us a sense of community, a sense of friendship for our son. He’s made friends here. It was not a choice that we took lightly and it has paid out beyond imagination.
I wholeheartedly recommend Legacy Martial Arts to anyone, not just a child but as an adult just because not only is it just a form of a great art but it’s a… a great family to be a part of. And more importantly, it just instills such a great sense of confidence and more important self-discipline and just helps everybody grow and it’s a phenomenal community.

Our family has been a part of Legacy Martial Arts & Fitness for two and a half years. Our family chose Legacy Martial Arts & Fitness because of the “family feel”. There’s nothing like dropping your child off for extra curricular or now the way of life and knowing that the individuals inside are not only looking at your child as someone else who is joining your studio but are looking at them as family.
Since joining the dojo, we’ve noticed an increase in confidence and focus in our child.

We’ve been a part of Legacy Martial Arts family for two and a half years. We started when my daughter had just turned 5 years old and she’s now 7. I chose Legacy Martial Arts because I wanted my daughter to be around children that identify as she does; and I found Legacy Martial Arts to be a black-owned business and that sparked my interest to come out, take a look at the facility, and meet the instructors to see how everything runs.
I would definitely recommend Legacy Martial Arts to any parent that has a young child and you wanna build their confidence. Just seeing my child grow was absolutely amazing – from her start at five and now she’s a little over seven. I would definitely recommend multiple people not even children but also adults as well.

This place is home for us. It is it community/tribe. We moved to Charlotte at the beginning of COVID. As a homeschooling mommy, we struggled with finding our place and footing. I am not even sure how I ran across Legacy, but it never came up in my search for activities for my daughter. However, this day it immediately popped up in my search and was just a few minutes from us. I filled out the online form to audit class. Myesha called me the same day. She really sold it for me.
The instructors are world-class. The children are their own tribe and all come from great homes. The head instructor is amazing at his crazy and loves the children. They also know what is needed to push the kids to become better versions of themselves.
My daughter had been taking class since 12/22 and has evolved so much during her time there. I am excited that she was selected for the State and US tournament team. This is great experience for my 9-year-old.
Today, I took a women’s self-defense class and strongly encourage other women to do the same. With Charlotte being a major hub for sex trafficking, the skills learned in this class could be the difference in walking away from a potential attack or not.
I am thankful to have found Legacy and literally do not know what we would do without them. Charlotte is not preference, but I refuse to part ways with our family. My 5 year old needed to get involved with something and we weren’t sure if he was ready for team sports. I reached out to Ajarn Jay and he consulted me on what Martial Arts could help him with In General and specifically how Legacy would help. It has been 3 months and we are over joyed with the results.
We see an improvement socially in school, he has more confidence and he is challenged academically with the material he is required to learn. He has even taken on more responsibility at home with chores and interacting with his baby Brother. We are grateful for the experience and will keep him enrolled for as long as he wants to be.

My 5 year old daughter has been there a week and she loves it. The staff there is nothing short of amazing! They are so patient with my daughter and the other little ones. She’s learning quickly, meeting new friends, and enjoys the environment.
